Welcome to the #DragonFamliy: Gabby Bergquist

MSUM alum Gabby Bergquist (university studies '19) is joining the #DragonFamily as an HR Coordinator. Gabby will be doing payroll and onboarding for new full-time employees at MSUM.

Q: What brought you to MSUM? 
A: I have always wanted to come back and work in higher education. I ended up falling into HR in my previous job, the stars aligned, and I was lucky enough to find an HR opening here.

Q: What's one thing that has surprised you about MSUM? 
A: Everyone has been so friendly. I have met so many people and everyone has been so nice and spent some time getting to know me a bit.

Q: Do you have any productivity tricks?
A: Brain breaks. Taking just two minutes to look out the window or just getting up to get a drink of water can really help me stay productive.

Q: What energizes you outside of work?
A: I'm a big reader. Currently I'm reading "The Pairing" by Casey McQuinston. I also foster cats which really gets my spirits up and is a lot of fun.

Q: What's something, big or small, that you are really good at?
A: I'm really good at typing. In 7th grade I got a district-wide award for typing and even though it is something small, I'm proud of it.

Q: What's one thing that people might not know about you?
A: I'm terrified of mascots; I don't know if something happened to me as a kid but my whole life I have been scared of them. If Scorch were to come in, I would really try to play it cool; I try to hide it but I'm not sure how well I'd do.
