A campus favorite, Dahl Hall is ideally located near Comstock Memorial Union, Kise Commons and just a short walk to any on-campus building. This coed hall fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and community. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and drawers are ideal for storage. Each of Dahl’s three floors features a centrally located lounge that doubles as the floor’s social hub.
Academics are an important part of the Dahl experience. Study rooms on each floor offer a quiet, comfortable place to review the morning’s lecture notes, outline that term paper or study for an upcoming midterm.

Wireless internet is available in your room, common areas/lounges in each hall. Wi-Fi is connected via StarID and password. For gaming consoles and/or Smart TVs, please use the gaming network for your building. For wireless internet support, email support@mnstate.edu with your building, room number and issue.
Most residence hall beds can be lofted or adjusted to help you make the most of your space. Review the information below to learn what options are available in your residence hall.
Beds include built-in lofting capabilities. You do not need a separate loft kit.
Rooms are furnished with full-size beds that cannot be lofted.
Homemade or purchased lofts are not permitted in any residence hall.
Need help lofting your bed? Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on adjusting your bed in residence halls with loftable furniture.
We strongly encourage our students to pursue renters insurance. You may arrange for renter's insurance through your own insurance company. MSUM does not insure personal belongings in student rooms. While we hope students will never need to file a renter's insurance claim, it is important to be prepared just in case.
Residents can submit a work request for their room via their myHousing portal. Log in and click the Maintenance tab. This is also where residents may view comments from Maintenance staff regarding the work. To submit work orders for public spaces in your hall, such as the bathroom, contact your RA or Hall Desk.
