General Education Mobile (GEM)

GEM allows enlisted members of the United States Air Force and Space Force to earn general education credits towards their associate’s degree from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Airman and Guardians can complete their 15 general education credits towards their CCAF associate degree through GEM partners like MSUM. All GEM courses are available online. Students can use VA education benefits and tuition assistance to complete their GEM courses through MSUM.

Complete 15 of your 60 credits at an affordable cost with banded tuition. Take up to 18 credits per semester for the price of 12 at MSU Moorhead.

All of the GEM courses listed below are offered online. Fall and spring semester are 16 weeks long. Summer and winter semester varies.

Liberal Arts & Sciences Curriculum Goal Requirements

All GEM courses also meet the LASC goal requirements for Minnesota State transfer curriculum to ensure seamless transfer to any Minnesota State institution.

All service members also receive credit for LASC goal Area 9: Ethical and Civic Responsibility

  • MSUM has a dedicated Veteran Success Center with support staff to aid our military connected students with education benefits, access to resources and transition assistance.
  • All military and Veteran students have their application fee waived.
