Winter Session
- Graduate sooner than scheduled.
- Lighten your load in spring or fall.
- Make up a course.
Stand apart and forge your own path while on winter break. Minnesota State University Moorhead will be offering a Winter Session, starting December 23. Select courses will be offered online only.
Winter Session registration opens October 15, the same time as Spring and Summer registration.
When you enroll in Winter Session, remember you will be completing a semester’s worth of coursework in a condensed timeline. Because of this, a 3-credit course may require 40 or more hours of time to learn, apply and assess the course content.
Taking more than one Winter Session class is very ambitious. Consult with your advisor before registering for a second course.
Minnesota State system students — log in to eServices to register.
Courses are offered as three-week sessions, all starting December 23. The 2024-25 course schedule offers multiple courses, with an emphasis on LASC courses.
We know you have winter plans, which is why all courses will be offered completely online. But remember, winter courses are accelerated and require a substantive time commitment and effort.
Winter Session courses are a separate charge from your Fall and Spring semester charges and will be billed at the Spring 2025 per credit tuition and fee rates. If you have further questions please contact Business Services.
Winter Session financial aid will be awarded as part of your Spring Semester financial aid package. If you have further questions please contact the Office of Scholarship & Financial Aid.
2024-2025 Winter Session Planner
The last day to add a Winter Session course or to drop a course without financial obligation and no record is December 23. The last day to withdraw (resulting in a W on your transcript) will be posted in each individual course.
Students must contact the Registrar's office to drop a class after December 23. You will not be able to complete course modifications through eService once the session has begun. Please note that because Winter Session occurs during Winter Break and is completely online, student services and hours of operation may be limited.
