Max Goldberg was a prominent businessman in the Fargo-Moorhead community, actively being involved in a seed and grain business for over 60 years. These papers are mostly family related but does include the minutes of the annual meetings for the Moorhead Farmers Elevator Company.

The Swedish Culture Heritage Society of the Red River Valley [Minnesota/North Dakota] was founded September 20, 1976. The purpose of the Society is to enrich the members’ lives with the Swedish culture, to spread awareness of Swedish culture in the community, and to contribute tangibility to Swedish cultural presence in the community.
In 1976, representatives of Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, discussed a proposed museum for preserving and displaying the history and culture of the two cities and their surrounding counties. The proposed museum was to be built in the form of a structure that bridged the Red River, was to be jointly funded by the two cities, and was to be administered by a group representing both communities.
