The documents and interviews in this collection were assembled to provide background on the development of electrical power in the rural areas of northwest Minnesota and portions of North Dakota. Much of the rural power in this area was first provided under the aegis of the Rural Electrification Administration.

The Ulen-Hitterdal [Minnesota] Community Garden Club organized in 1948 and continued as an organization for 33 years, dissolving in November 1981. During this period they held monthly meeting, held local floral and vegetable shows, and toured area gardens.
Clarence Evenson, Moorhead, Minnesota was a state representative for the years 1959-1962, representing the 49th District. He was mayor of Moorhead from 1921-22 and again from 1931-32. This collection contains bills, correspondence, newspaper clippings, tax information and miscellaneous materials from when he was a representative.
The Ada Cooperative Creamery, Ada, Minnesota, was established in 1920 to meet the needs of the dairy farmers in Norman County. More information on the history of the creamery can be obtained from the Minnesota Historical Society which retains the donor information forms and related materials.
Marvin Dauner of Hawley, Minnesota, was first elected to the Clay County Board of Commissioners in 1974, and remained on the Board until 1986. His twelve years on the Commission were characterized by an attention to detail and a desire to, in his own words, give “an intelligent, not a political” response to the needs of his constituents.
