The Prosequi [Prosequi meaning seekers] Club of Moorhead, Minnesota was organized December 6, 1956. The objective of the study club was the study of topics of general information. Membership was not to exceed twenty-five members with meetings usually held in members’ homes twice a month. The Program Committee arranged and assigned scheduled programs and places of meetings.
Dr. David M. Brown, superintendent of schools in Goodridge, Minnesota from 1953 to his retirement, was the chairman of the Pennington County Republican Party organization from 1968 to 1978. Harry Basford was born at Deer River, Minnesota on May 21, 1908. He married Emma Miler on June 19, 1937. His education included grade and high school and two years of University training. He attended night school for over four years. He moved to the Wolf Lake, Minnesota area in 1941 where he operated a dairy farm.
Fairmont Foods, Incorporated, originally known as Fairmont Creamery Company, started construction of its creamery in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1923, completing and opening the plant in May 1924. At the time this was the biggest creamery in the area. The creamery in Moorhead was part of the nation-wide network of creameries and buying stations started by Fairmont.
David J. Beauchamp was born September 6, 1940 in Langdon, North Dakota. He graduated from the St. Francis Elementary and secondary school in Langdon and then attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from there in 1962. From 1962 to 1964, David Beauchamp worked with the Peace Corps in Thailand.
