Ever since Kelsi O’Keefe ’06 (social work) was young she knew she wanted to be in field that allowed her to help others. After graduating from MSUM, she felt she had found the perfect profession in social work. Although O’Keefe loved her job and saw the good she was doing with her patients, she felt she needed something that produced more tangible results.
McKenna Togstad graduated from MSUM in May 2020 with a degree in economics. Throughout her time at MSUM she accomplished a lot and was very involved on campus. Her undergraduate research was published in Issues in Political Economy. She also participated in the National Student Exchange (NSE) program which gave her the opportunity to study in New Jersey for a semester.
The School of Art’s Art-a-Fair celebrated a little bit of everything on Friday, Jan. 28, with the highlight of awarding ‘Best of Awards’ to 10 area high school students in nine categories. We also recognized the Best North Dakota Exhibition - Grand Forks Central High School and Best Minnesota Exhibition - Underwood High School. Congratulations to all of our winners!
The First Congregational United Church of Christ, Glyndon, Clay County, Minnesota was formally organized in 1872 as the Church of Glyndon, apparently by Congregationalists. In 1921, the name was changed to the First Congregational Churches until 1963, when it joined the Minnesota Conference of the United Church of Christ and adopted its present name, the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
This microfilm edition contains the records of the Church of St. John the Divine, Moorhead, Clay County, Minnesota. The congregation began holding services in Moorhead in 1872. Bishop Henry B. Whipple conducted the first confirmation service in December 1873. In 1875, St. John’s was officially organized and recognized as a parish by the governing body of the Protestant Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.

Students entering a degree program can expect to complete the program under the requirements specified at the time of enrollment, unless enrollment is interrupted for more than one year. MSUM’s men’s basketball team defends its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament title. From there, the Dragons will almost certainly head to the NCAA Division II Championships by virtue of their record during the regular season. Meanwhile, our track and field athletes have been enjoying a noteworthy postseason with a number of Dragons taking first place in events at the recent NSIC Indoor Championships.
The Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Reunion (WMSTR) was officially organized in 1954. But well before that year, individuals in the Rollag area were acting to preserve and restore old steam-powered farming equipment. N.B. Nelson, one of the most active of these individuals, proposed in 1940, that steam threshers be used one day each year so that “Old timers” could “see a steam engine work again.”
The Learning Bank was a clearinghouse for education designed to make the best use of the Fargo-Moorhead community’s resources for learning through sharing. The Learning Bank’s purpose was to help educators provide programs together that they otherwise could not provide alone. Some programs offered to community students includes an agricultural education program, a fine arts program, the career bank, a mentor network, and media sharing.
