The Recipient Families United for Justice (RFUJ) was a state-wide [Minnesota] organization created by a citizens group in Minneapolis in 1984. The organization was staffed and directed by volunteers, individuals representing families who were receiving social assistance, individuals engaged in social work professions, religious organizations and educational institutions.
Mexican-Americans have been migrating to the Red River Valley since the late 1920s, primarily to work on the sugar beet farms during the summer weeding and the fall harvest. Since the introduction of mechanical cultivators and harvesters in the1950s, the need for field labor has declined, but the number of migrants has continued to grow. As a result, many Mexican-Americans have begun to settle permanently in Minnesota and North Dakota towns in the Valley.
Donald Sinclair was born January 9, 1899 in Stephen, Minnesota. He served in the United States Navy during World War I. After his tour of duty, he attended the University of Minnesota, graduating from there in 1924. Mr. Sinclair was married and had three children.

To spark an interest in science, the Science Center’s programs are exciting, hands-on experiences for learners of all ages. More than 4,000 PK-12 students attend our science exploration programs each year. When your students visit the Center as a part of a class field trip, they’re sure to walk away with a greater understanding of and enthusiasm for science.
Completion of this program allows the student to apply for a Minnesota grades 5-8 general science teaching license. This license is not a stand-alone license but may be added to any existing teaching license as per the Board of Teaching regulations.
