Henry Peterson was born October 23, 1904, in Moorhead, Minnesota. He was the third son of Charles and Louise Peterson. Henry was born the same year that his father purchased his first 20 acre in what is now north Moorhead. Henry grew up on this farm raised by his father; his mother died when he was three years old.

The Northwest Oil Equipment Company grew out of the Nonwestern Supply Company, a manufacturer of a variety of forged implements, owned and operated by Martin Parries of Moorhead Minnesota. From 1944 to 1984, the Northwest Oil Equipment Company manufactured specialized storage tanks, pumps, nozzles and other equipment for use by service stations, and later, oil corporations.
Frank DeGroat (1916-1989) served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1962-1976, the year he retired from office. He served in District 10A which occupies Becker, and parts of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties. In addition to holding public office, Frank was a dairy and grain farmer residing in the rural Lake Park, Minnesota area.

O.C. Nelson Company Store was owned by Ole Christian Nelson, a pioneer from the area of Battle Lake, Minnesota. The original store burned in 1906 and it was reorganized as a partnership. His daughter was Mrs. Helen Nelson Englund of Battle Lake, Minnesota.
Eva Felde, a native of Barnesville, Minnesota, attended Moorhead State Teachers College from 1935 to 1937, earning an education degree. She subsequently taught in numerous schools before returning to MSTC to complete a BS in Education in 1944.
