Dennis, a part-time MSUM student in art education, shares his gift with Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding communities as the powwow’s head male dancer.

The collection is primarily concerned with selected activities of the Northern Pacific Railroad from 1870 to 1913. The collection includes the following materials: abstracts, addresses, agreements, briefs, bylaws, charters, collateral trust, contracts, court cases, editorials, guides, hearings, indentures, laws, leaflets, leases, letters, mortgages, official statements, opinions, pamphlets, prospectus, reports, resolutions, statements, stockholder’s reports, speeches and the Howard Elliot Farewell Dinner agendas.

Life long resident of the Glyndon, Minnesota area, Keith Langseth and his wife Lorraine operate a dairy farm in Elkton Township between Glyndon and Barnesville. Langseth, who had served as Clay County DFL Chairman, was elected to the Minnesota State Legislative in 1974 when he unseated Arlan Stangeland. He continued to serve District 9B until 1978 when he failed in his re-election by eleven voters, one of the closest races in the state of Minnesota.

The heart of the RRVSGA collection is the transcripts of interviews conducted with several dozen individuals involved in the sugarbeet industry in the Valley. Most of those interviewed are members of the RRVSGA, although former employees of the old American Crystal Company, some migrant laborers, and a few elected officials were also interviewed. Each interview transcription is fully described in the inventory. In addition to the transcript, a tape of the interview is also available.
