Center for Geospatial Studies
MSU Moorhead’s Center for Geospatial Studies specializes in accessing, creating and sharing geospatial data to enrich and advance the lives of citizens in our community and the region.
As an indispensable geographic information systems (GIS) asset to the region, the Center for Geospatial Studies seeks to educate all members of the campus and wider community to think spatially and benefit from the use of GIS technologies. Center faculty members are available to customize and serve data and conduct spatial analyses to inform regional decision-making.
The Center for Geospatial Studies uses Esri story maps to harness the power of maps and geography to tell our story. To learn more about the Center for Geospatial Studies and the impact GIS has on how we live and work, take a look at the 2016-2018 story maps featuring narrative text, images and multimedia content.
GIS Day is an international celebration of geography, mapping, and thinking spatially. MSUM’s GIS Day will feature short talks by MSUM students and faculty to show how GIS is being applied across campus. Presentations will highlight campus GIS resources, outreach, faculty and student research, professional development, administrative duties, and more. Join us on Wednesday, November 13 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in room 124 of the Faculty Development Center located in the Library. It's free and open to the public.
