RN to BSN Nursing Program
If you hold the Registered Nurse license (or will shortly) with the associate degree, MSU Moorhead’s baccalaureate completion degree in nursing is your key to career advancement. The online RN to BSN program is ranked #2 in the entire state of Minnesota for its quality and flexibility.
The RN to BSN program is available in-person, online and in a hybrid format which aligns with F1 Visa international student course delivery expectations. You can study at a pace that fits your life. The RN-BSN curriculum is informed by the best of professional standards and with input from employers, industry experts and practicing nurses.
Nursing faculty advisors work with you to create your individual program plan so you can progress at your own pace. Complete one, two or three courses per term, depending on your schedule. Courses are offered summer, fall and spring.
MSUM’s faculty are experienced with cutting-edge theories for adult education in the online learning environment and continually incorporate current online best practices. Courses are relevant and support real-world application for practicing RNs.
Four nursing courses include exciting and important experiential learning components to strengthen your knowledge as a future baccalaureate RN. These experiences happen in your home region, as appropriate. You will independently arrange two of the clinical experiences – with a family and with an elder. For the other two clinical-related courses, faculty will guide you through experiences in public health and in a focused practice improvement project locally.
MSUM’s online RN-BSN degree is one of the most affordable, high-quality, and long-standing programs in the country. MSUM’s baccalaureate degree requires just 120 credits, with 40 of those credits in upper-division courses. Your total cost depends on your unique college history. While some students complete the program in 31 credits, on average, our students need 40 credits and study part time to complete the degree.
MSUM RN to BSN program, through Credit for Prior Learning, you can earn 3 credits for NURS 497 after successful completion of NURS 301, and 3 credits for NURS 490 after successful completion of NURS 348L.
The baccalaureate degree in nursing and the master's degree in nursing programs at Minnesota State University Moorhead are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Our nursing faculty hold a student-centered, adult education philosophy for online learners. They have strong history in practice, are specialty credentialed, and know and appreciate the RN base from where you begin.
