A family heritage of service spurred Joaquin Watson to join the U.S. Army. Now he’s the president of the Dragon Student Veterans Club.

Heidi King supports military-connected students as the student relations coordinator for MSUM’s College of Arts and Humanities and as a volunteer on the campus’ Veterans Service Committee. 

In the fall of 2023, Claire got the opportunity to start researching with her professor, Dr. Ananda Shastri, on the topic of renewable energy. Their research was focused on creating batteries that could support sustainable power infrastructure.

Taytum applied, and was accepted, to spend her summer in Menlo Park, California at SRI. While there, she and another student conducted geospatial studies, specifically working on mapping the Ionosphere.

Junior Carlyssa Pfennig began a unique internship this summer and shares what her journey has taught her and where it is taking her. 

Franklin Ugochukwu is a local artist who also happens to be an MSUM alum. Franklin is a well-known character in the Fargo/Moorhead art world. Franklin balances his art career, running a YouTube channel, and staying involved with MSUM.
