Nursing Dragon Stories

It's nearly guaranteed a meeting with Heather Soleim and Sarah Jegela will garner a chuckle or two, but you may not know the registrar and associate registrar have a rich history.

Dr. Margaret (Peg) Potter, a professor in MSUM’s psychology department, has recently received the Lifetime Achievement award for her dedication to the betterment of school psychology.

It took Alyssa Lopez 16 years to finish her degree. She was able to do it thanks to support from her parents and professors. Now she supports others who face obstacles.

Dragon alumni will soon have a place of their own. A groundbreaking ceremony for the long-awaited MSUM Alumni Center will be in April 2022. In addition to serving as the anchor for alumni returning to campus, the center will provide space for students and community members to interact.

Sarah Jasmer's public health experiences at MSUM prepared her to help patients across the nation in a variety of nursing environments.

Angela Konz, a graphic communication major, and her partner Rebecca Zych, an animation major, created a Halloween-themed video game called “The Great Halloween Kerfuffle” for this year's conference. 

"House Hunters" featured MSUM alumni Poonam Budhiraja (2012, Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies), Jerry Griggs (2016, Business Administration and Management) and Alexa Dixson-Griggs (2015, Social Work) as Budhiraja showed the local couple houses to fit their growing family.

MSUM graduate student Oksana Bihun hopes to shed light on a misunderstood and relatively unknown issue at the 24^th Annual Student Academic Conference (SAC): workplace mobbing. 

​Tanya Dickinson '00, business administration graduate, is an adventurous and generous Dragon who gives back to MSUM to ensure that future students have many opportunities.

Working in research is all about sharing your experience with others. Dr. Heather Cegla (they/them) is doing just that by engaging with students as the keynote speaker for the 24th Annual Andrew B. Conteh Student Academic Conference (SAC).

Miranda Hamman, a graduate student pursuing her master’s in speech pathology, created a project about the negative effects of screen time on young children, which she’ll present at the annual Student Academic Conference.  

Abdou Manjang graduated with a Master of Healthcare Administration in December. He secured his dream job before receiving his diploma.
