Farwell & Sash Ceremony
The Farewell and Sash Ceremony is designed for graduating international students and domestic students who identify as BIPOC and/or part of the LGBTQIA2S community. MSUM will provide a sash that represents their country of citizenship or community of choice. Students will wear their sashes at commencement, giving our traditionally underrepresented groups an opportunity to share their success and pride with the rest of the students. Graduating international and multicultural domestic students may invite their friends, family, co-workers, supervisors, and professors to the Farewell and Sash Ceremony. Space is limited and students are required to sign up ahead of time and RSVP their guest list to the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Engagement.
