The College of Science, Health, and the Environment prepares students to engage in scientific inquiry, make informed decisions, pursue career opportunities and benefit the community.
College of Science, Health and the Environment Goals:
- To provide a strong liberal studies foundation for all undergraduate programs.
- To prepare students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for fulfilling and productive careers in the 21st century.
- To develop a university community that embraces diversity and bases relationships in tolerance, civility and affirmation.
- To provide encouragement and support for faculty development in teaching, advising, scholarship and creative activity.

Undergraduate Accreditation
Minnesota State University Moorhead is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to offer undergraduate four-year college programs leading to Baccalaureate degrees.
Graduate Accreditation
Minnesota State University Moorhead is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission at the Doctoral, Specialist, and Master's degrees levels.
Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Chemistry Department is on the approved list of the American Chemical Society.
Minnesota State University Moorhead's Bachelor's of Science in Health Services Administration is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
Minnesota State University Moorhead Master of Science in Athletic Training is seeking initial accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101.
The Minnesota Board of Executives for Long Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) accredits Minnesota State University Moorhead Long Term Care Administration program as a Center of Excellence for Long Term Care Administrators.
Minnesota State University Moorhead's graduate program in school psychology is approved and meets training standards established by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). MSUM has been NASP/NCATE approved for 30 years. MSU Moorhead was one of the first programs in the country to receive NASP/NCATE approval. NASP is an affiliate organization of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Minnesota State University Moorhead has been approved by the State of Minnesota to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.
The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) recognizes and distinguishes Minnesota State University Moorhead with standardized, approved strength and conditioning curricula in undergraduate Exercise Science bachelor degree designed to prepare students for the NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.

MSUM’s Long Term Care Administration is accredited by the North Dakota Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.
