Computer Information Technology
If maintaining computers and related technology is something you enjoy, Minnesota State University Moorhead’s Computer Information Technology major may be for you. In this program you’ll study how to manage servers, networks, routers and user accounts, as well as develop computer software. A unique program to the area, the Computer Information Technology degree will give you the latest tools and knowledge necessary to offer IT maintenance and support in your career.
Transfer-friendly program makes it easy to complete a Computer Information Technology bachelor’s degree after two years at another school.
Three state-of-the-art computer facilities provide you with advanced technology tools to facilitate a real-world learning environment. A Windows-based lab with 32 computers, a Linux lab with 21 workstations, and an advanced technologies research facility lab are available to Computer Information Systems students.
Multiple closely related majors in the department mean you can double or even triple major by taking a small number of additional credits. Computer Information Systems, Computer Science and Cybersecurity majors are also offered at MSUM.
Excellent internship opportunities exist in the Fargo-Moorhead area at large organizations like Microsoft and startup companies like Myriad Mobile or Clifton Labs, to name a few. They’ll help you gain real-world experience before graduating and joining the workforce.
