The School of Art at Minnesota State University Moorhead is a dynamic artistic community of students, faculty, and staff. As a Studio Art major, you’ll learn the principles of art, develop an understanding of art in historic and contemporary contexts, and acquire advanced skills in studio areas, including drawing and illustration, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and ceramics. Through the investigation of the creative process and faculty mentoring, you will explore and discover your own personal artistic voice.

The Roland Dille Center for the Arts is home to a regionally acclaimed art gallery, more than 50 individual studio spaces, and facilities for each Studio Art emphasis. You’ll have 24-hour access to the building in order to complete your work when it fits your schedule.
While attending MSUM, you’ll have the opportunity to gain professional experience through on-campus jobs, a variety of art-related student organizations, museum and gallery tours, and by living and learning with fellow artists.
