Snarr Hall Complex

Snarr Complex is made up of three co-ed residence halls, centrally located on campus near the campus dining center and Wellness Center. West Snarr completed its renovation in 2014; the first floor of West Snarr offers an open lounge with fireplace, multi-purpose room for studying and events, a kitchen, and a hall desk with mail services for the entire Snarr complex. West and South Snarr offer updated student rooms, with new versatile furniture. Each floor in West and South Snarr offer renovated lounges, laundry rooms, and bathrooms with private toilet and shower rooms that are shared by the floor. South Snarr reopened in August 2017, featuring a newly renovated first floor lounge, complete with multi-purpose room, pool table area and TV-hangout space. East Snarr was renovated with gender-specific toilet/shower rooms and reopened in August 2018. East Snarr features a large laundry room on the first floor that is a favorite study spot while catching up on laundry. East Snarr is also home to the most popular TV Lounge on campus!

How do I send my student mail and packages while they are living in the MSUM Residence Halls?

Use the following address to send mail and packages to MSUM residents. There is one mailbox for each room. Mailboxes are located on the first floor of each building at the hall desk. Packages that do not fit in a mailbox are held at the hall desk until residents can pick them up.

Cable & Internet Service

Digital Cable is provided by MidCo Communications. Rooms are equipped with digital cable (older TV styles will not work). You will need to provide your own co-axial cable. If you have trouble connecting or would like to add DVR services (for a fee), MidCo answers the phone 24/7! Call 1.800.571.5463 from your room. You can also try online chat at www.midco.com/contact/live-chat for customer support. Please note: the call reps may not understand you are in a dorm room, not an off-campus apartment building; please stress you live in a university residence hall. Visit midco.com for channel list, self-help guides, online chat support and troubleshooting tips.

Wireless internet is available in your room, common areas/lounges in each hall. Wi-Fi is connected via StarID and password. For wireless internet support, email support@mnstate.edu with your building, room number and issue.

MicroFridge Rental

A limited number of MicroFridge (combination refrigerator, freezer, and microwave) will be available for rental on a first come first serve basis. They are $75 per semester.

All MicroFridges are booked for Fall. Please email housing@mnstate.edu if you would like to be put on the wait list.

If you reserve prior to the official Move-In Day, your MicroFridge will be in your room when you move in.

Renter's Insurance

We strongly encourage our students to pursue renters insurance. You may arrange for renter's insurance through your own insurance company. MSUM does not insure personal belongings in student rooms. While we hope students will never need to file a renter's insurance claim, it is important to be prepared just in case.

Submit a Work Request for your Room

Residents can submit a work request for their room via their myHousing portal. Log in and click the Maintenance tab. This is also where residents may view comments from Maintenance staff regarding the work. To submit work orders for public spaces in your hall, such as the bathroom, contact your RA or Hall Desk.
